Erika is an associate attorney in our Chattanooga office. Erika’s practice is focused in construction litigation, specifically the defense of architects, engineers and other design professionals in professional malpractice matters.  Erika also handles accounting malpractice, general liability and insurance coverage disputes.  Prior to joining Copeland, Stair, Valz & Lovell, Erika enjoyed a similar practice at a highly-respected firm in downtown Chattanooga, where she managed numerous complex civil litigation matters and gained invaluable contract dispute and resolution experience.

Erika received her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was Executive Editor of the Tennessee Law Review, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she majored in Psychology and Political Science. Erika is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Chattanooga Bar Association, and the Southeastern Tennessee Lawyers’ Association for Women (SETLAW). Erika currently serves on the Board of SETLAW as the organization’s Social Justice Chair. Erika is a member of CSVL’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and in Spring of 2021 successfully completed the University of South Florida, MUMA College of Business’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace certification program.

In her spare time, Erika enjoys spending time with her family, paddleboarding, playing board games (especially Monopoly), trying new restaurants around town, and cooking.
