Gary Lovell and Kristen Thompson obtain a defense verdict for an ENT Physician
Gary Lovell and Kristen Thompson defended an otolaryngologist in a week-long trial. The patient alleged that the ENT doctor failed to diagnose a cholesteatoma in his right ear from 2007 to 2015 during his regular office visits due to prior mastoidectomy surgeries requiring regular ear cleanings. The patient later developed facial paralysis and was found to have an active cholesteatoma that had eroded his facial bone. Gary and Kristen argued that the patient never experienced any signs or symptoms of a cholesteatoma and that it developed in between office visits caused by an ear infection that dramatically quickened the cholesteatoma growth. All parties utilized radiologist and otolaryngology experts.
