Cassandra Buer is an Associate in the Chattanooga office of Copeland, Stair, Valz & Lovell. She focuses her practice on Construction Litigation, Commercial Litigation, and General Liability matters. Cassandra advises clients on diverse matters including business entity formation, compliance, contractual and coverage disputes, and general liability defense.

Prior to joining CSVL, Cassandra has represented clients from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies in cases involving premises and products liability, trade secret protection, shareholder disputes, and employment claims. She has also advised healthcare and nonprofit clients as outside general counsel.

Cassandra is a Teach for America – South Louisiana alumna and remains heavily involved with child welfare causes. She began her legal career with the Florida Department of Children and Families as a trial attorney, managing large caseloads of dependency actions including Adjudicatory and Termination of Parental Rights trials.

Cassandra received her J.D. from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Herbert Law Center in May 2022. During law school at LSU, she served as President of the Child and Family Law Society, as Baton Rouge Teen Court liaison with the Public Interest Law Society, and as Editor-in-Chief of The Civilian, LSU Law’s student publication. She was also selected as a policy fellow for the Orleans Parish School Board through the Urban Leaders Fellowship of New Orleans and held a judicial externship at the 19th Judicial District Family Court of East Baton Rouge Parish.

Cassandra is a member of the Junior League of Chattanooga, Southeastern Tennessee Lawyers’ Association for Women (SETLAW), and the Chattanooga Bar Association, Young Lawyer’s Division. She is barred in both Florida and Tennessee, as well as United States District Courts in both states.
