Partner Jalisa Stevens and Associates Taylor Johnson and Samaria Henry attended the 2026 Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys CLE Conference, “Bold Steps, New Horizons,” in March. The opening keynote speaker, Dorothy Capers spoke about the importance of making meaningful connections and standing up for justice in difficult situations. She also shared advice that helped her through the transition from prosecutor to in-house counsel, “never make an enemy on purpose.”

Another keynote speaker, Kimberly Chainey, Chief Legal Officer for a global leading tech company, gave helpful and authentic advice on how to navigate offices as women in male dominated professions, and being the hero of our own story. Overall, this year’s LIWOCA conference was a wonderful, informative, and empowering experience for our attorneys!
