Austin C. Chesteen is an associate in the Atlanta office, focusing his practice on professional liability. Before joining CSVL, he served at the Macon Circuit Public Defenders Office as an Assistant Public Defender and Law Clerk. In this role, he managed a high-volume caseload, representing clients over a wide range of matters. He negotiated case resolutions, led investigations, drafted motions, and advocated for clients through all stages of litigation. Austin also worked to secure critical housing and resources for his clients.
Austin earned his Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law, where he served on the Arbitration Team, was President of Historians in Law School, and held a leadership role in the Student Veteran Association. He received a Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Research & Drafting. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Columbus State University, graduating magna cum laude with a minor in medieval and renaissance studies. While an undergraduate, he presented historical research at national conferences and led student initiatives including the Model United Nations program.
