Canon Tyler Corbitt is an Associate in our Atlanta office, practicing Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Litigation and General Liability Litigation. Canon graduated cum laude from Emory University School of Law, where he earned the Legal Writing and Research Book Award and was a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society.

Since graduating, Canon has successfully defended a large brewing company in a personal injury case on appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, obtained complete dismissal of Plaintiffs’ Complaint on behalf of an insurance company and claims adjuster in Superior Court of DeKalb County, won a Motion for Summary Judgment and obtained complete dismissal of Plaintiff’s Complaint against a residential home inspection company, achieved favorable settlements in a series of ERISA class action lawsuits against a global software company, and successfully defended an FLSA collective action on behalf of a local Georgia restaurant and manager in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, overturning detrimental precedent in which the same restaurant and manager lost in the same court under nearly identical facts in 2008.

Canon is an active member of DRI, previously the Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division, the Atlanta Bar Association in the Labor and Employment Section and Litigation Section, and the State Bar of Georgia in the Labor and Employment Law Section, General Practice and Trial Law Section, Employee Benefits Law Section, and as the Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Committee under the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia.

Beyond his legal career, Canon is an avid enthusiast of racquetball, snowboarding and skiing, and chess.
