Courtney is an Associate attorney in our Charleston office, focusing her practice in Medical Malpractice. Prior to joining CSVL, Courtney practiced law in the Charleston area at a nationally-recognized plaintiffs’ law firm where she gained experience in securities and anti-terrorism law. Courtney earned her B.S. from University of South Carolina as a Capstone Scholar, magna cum laude, and her J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
While at Washington and Lee, Courtney worked as a student attorney for the Immigrant Rights Clinic and was Lead Article Editor for the German Law Journal. She served as a law clerk in the Alexandria Circuit Court, and a judicial extern in the Roanoke County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Courtney was also a research assistant, contributing to research on international crimes and the International Court of Justice, as well as completing research on human rights law in Africa. She traveled to law schools throughout Ukraine in partnership with USAID to assist with a presentation on anti-corruption in schools.
Outside of work, Courtney enjoys reading, spending time at the beach, skiing in Vermont, and trying new restaurants with friends. She serves her community as a board member for Charleston Habitat for Humanity.
Courtney was recognized on the Civil Plaintiff – Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyer list for 2022.
