Jonathan L. Cleary is an associate in CSVL’s Chattanooga office, focusing his practice in Insurance Defense, General Liability, Construction,  and Trucking & Transportation Litigation. Prior to joining CSVL, Jonathan practiced in estate planning and probate, contract, personal injury, copyright, and general civil litigation after graduating from the University of Memphis School of Law in 2021.

Jonathan attended law school under the highly selective U.S. Customs House scholarship. There, he was a peer mentor and finalist in the 2020 Mock Trial Competition earning the Robert Spence Award for outstanding trial advocacy. During law school, Jonathan was a Judicial Clerk for the Hamilton County Circuit Court, serving in Circuit Court Divisions I, II, and III. For his undergraduate studies, Jonathan attended the University of Tennessee and Arizona State University, graduating summa cum laude. Prior to his career as an attorney, Jonathan was an active member in Chattanooga’s startup community and worked as a campaign strategist in several local political campaigns.

During his free time, Jonathan spends time with his wife and their two dogs.
