Partner Mark Lefkow and associate Austin Chesteen won a one-week jury trial for the firm’s lawyer client on breach of fiduciary duty claims relating to an escrow account and allegations of conflicts of interest. They also prevailed on the lawyer’s claims against the opposing party for defamation, private facts invasion of privacy, and civil conspiracy. The jury awarded the lawyer $94,000 and determined that the lawyer is entitled to punitive damages. Following the verdict, the lawyer waived an award of punitive damages in exchange for the opposing party waiving appeal rights.
