Partner Mark Lefkow obtained summary judgment for a lawyer and his law firm on claims filed by a medical factoring company. The firm’s lawyer client resolved the claims with the medical provider without notice of the alleged assignment to the medical factoring company. The Court granted summary judgment on the basis of no medical evidence showing the reasonableness and necessity of the bills and relation to the subject accident, lack of notice to the attorneys and their client of the alleged assignment, and noncompliance with the medical lien statute by the factoring company.
